Brown Forest Skink 股鱗蜓蜥

Sphenomorphus incognitus. But, hang on, it could be the Indian Forest Skink...even the experts get it wrong, as the only clear-cut difference is the presence of an enlarged scale at the back of the thigh in this tiny lizard! This one prefers prefers riparian forest, and can be seen basking on stream banks and rocks. The Indian Forest skink meanwhile is much happier on forest paths, among leaf litter.
